FIELD TRIP EXPERIENCE PROGRAMS

 

Grades 2 & 3

Return to Field Trips to the Village

Bike & Helmet Smart – An interactive bicycle safety program that uses visually stimulating activities and a peer- to peer approach to teaching students how to “bike safe and bike smart.” Students learn essential information about safe riding practices, how to correctly fit a bicycle helmet, rules of the road, signaling and riding at night. 

Fire Safety – This interactive program includes a trip through our fire safety house complete with a “smoke machine” which demonstrates to the students how smoke would fill a room. Children will practice what to do in the event of smoke or fire. They will practice “fall and crawl”, checking doors for heat and then exit out to safety. 

Dangerous Person Awareness This program is full of role playing activities that inform children about strangers and some of the most common lures used to entice children.

Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards / Health Education Benchmarks:

HE.2.C.1.4; HE.2.B.1.2; HE.2. B.2.3; HE.2.B.2.4; H.E.2.P.2.1; HE.3.B.1.1; HE.3.B.1;HE.3. P.1; HE.2.P.2.1n into dangerous situations. tudent s will learn to recognize and follow their instincts.

Registration Information

 

To Book A Field Trip Download and fill out a Field Trip Registration Request.

 Fax completed form to 407-521-4676 or email to Juanita.black@ocfl.net

Programs are offered Monday- Friday, between 9:30 – 12:00. Field trip programs begin at 9:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. and are one hour and half in length.  Teachers should select two programs and group size should not exceed 65 students.  Programs are subject to change without notice due to the availability of safety instructor.

 

Field Trip Fee: $5.00 per student

 

Chaperon Ratio: (1) Free adult for every 10 students
